She's leavin on the midnight train to ...Michigan..

Happy Birthday and goodbye Amy!! She's off to visit friends in a far off land. My little Amy is a young woman--my son Matt---HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT!!!! is almost middle age. Ok maybe not middle age but I am feeling Very old today!!!
As I drove away from Albany I called Amy on her cell as she rode away on her train to Michigan. Yikes!! One cell to another cell on two different type vehicles. Is anyone out there old enough to be shocked by the techno changes that represents in my life time? Oh golly!! I am sooo OLD!!

It's a Wonderful Life!!

Well the day is quieting down... The kids are in front of their computer monitors eating enough sweets to last the year. I'm in front of my tv and it's snowing outside so I have to watch my favorite movie. You guessed it!!!I miss my family far away but I know they have their precious family and each other. All my grown children are off with their families tonight and the younger ones at home are busy with their respective interests. Life is good. Got my penquin socks on and the only glitch of the day is cable to the internet for David versus the wireless chip working like it should. Not too bad.. not too bad at all... Uh oh! I have to say it!! ......You've really had a wonderful life, George!!!!

Merry Jacob-mas!!!

The pre Christmas excitement is upon us. I remember those days long ago when the manger scene was on the TV and carols were being sung with Christmas pageants at school and church etc. Very fun and exciting stuff.. but my little heart was all aflutter trying to guess what would be under the tree! But now I am above such stuff, that is right up until my husband puts wrapped presents for me under the tree the other day---then all of a sudden my little heart of larceny wants to slip the kids a 5 spot to get them to tell me WHAT'S UNDER THE TREE!! Jacob especially has driven us all nuts because he's a little excited and he gets very silly and hard to live with. I was all ready to lock him in a padded room when I turned to his friend Ben and said " Ben would you straighten Jacob out please? Tell him what's what?" "Sure," Ben says and turns to Jacob very sincerely and says "Jake--it's not about you---- It's about JESUS!!!" Thank you Ben for putting reality in to the mix. Did my heart just fine!!!!

The Joy of Sox

So I come home from work tonight in the frigid cold and go right to my hang around the house and be comfortable clothes drawer. As I was happily putting on my bright pink socks with the tread on the bottom,oh yes, Dad looks at me with disgust and says " nice socks"....You had to be there to hear the snear in his voice.... when all of a sudden he cracks a goofy grin and says "Oh wait---I gave you those socks last Christmas, didn't I?!! Hehe"--hypocrisy is everywhere!!!!
